Drawing Inspiration From A Movie and My New Years Resolution
By Jason in Motivational | 23 comments
Ever come out of the movie theater after watching a great movie feeling really inspired? Well I do all the time, and it’s a great feeling. I feel like I can take on the world, like I can achieve anything, and like anything is possible. Cut to Friday night, my girlfriend asks me to go to this movie called “P.S. I Love You” which I thought was some chick flick I wasn’t going to like. The movie stars Hilary Swank as a woman who loses her husband to a brain tumor and her subsequent and very difficult battle to move on from his death and live again with purpose.
Anyway, as it turns out, the movie had a really great message for me, this is probably not what the writers, actors, and directors intended as the main message of the movie, but the following is what I took from it. The movie really reminded me to cherish each moment I have in my life, as its the only one I get. Sort of subconsciously as I have gotten old I have also been reminded of this over and over again in everyday life. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, and life is a beautiful thing that should not be wasted. I really want to learn to appreciate life more, and the people in my life.
So for my New Years Resolution I resolve to call and visit my parents more often, to spend more time with my brothers, to call friends just to see how they are doing, to give money to charity anonymously, to be kind and respectful to everybody, and to just be the best person I can be and to enjoy every day I have left on this earth like it’s my last one. This is one resolution I will stick to. I encourage you to make a meaningful resolution for 2008 and beyond and to stick to it. Remember this is the only life you’ll get, make the best of it!
Moving on…
I’ll write again a few days after the new year with the normal business stuff and with ways to make more money and to improve your life. As a matter of fact, there’s this new program launching January 7th called “Millionaire in Training” that I am especially excited about.
It’s the amazing story of Jeff Gardner’s path from the trailer park to millionaire. You should definitely read Jeff’s free report right here. If you are anything like me you will really connect with Jeff’s story. It’s an awesome read. Until next time, live life to the fullest!

Your layout is really good; The information is categorized easily and I like the social bookmark dropdown and the random quotes the way they load up.
But mostly, you’re letting your personality shine through in your posts. Writing to an unknown audience can be difficult. You seem to have a good start on it in this medium.
Looking forward to future posts.
Mitch
P.S. Do I really want to know how Jeff Gardner makes those gajillions of dollars? If I sign up to one more mailing list, my inbox is going to burst at the seams!

Hi Jason, really enjoyed your post! What you shared is so true, we’re only given so much time and don’t have any real idea how long that is. Your list of resolutions is simple, and the rewards are immediate.
The blog is very nice, easy to read with good links. Have been working on mine as well, better to be working than waiting!
Have a blessed & prosperous 2008, Bonnie
PS ALWAYS read your email, thank you for good content & leads to great products!

Jason, I love your blog, it is very easy to read and of course the content is something that’s needed without all the fluff.
I’m especially thankful that you have realized that your life here on earth is as short as a vapor and that things could change in the blinking of an eye. I know that you will never be sorry for making an extra phone call to your parents or even taking a few minutes watching the sunset on a beautiful summer night. These are just a few things that you can keep forever in your heart and things that can never be taken away. The best part is that you will be able to look back someday and have no regrets.
My wish for you is to have a very blessed and properous new year.
Thanks for everything, Jeanette

Hello Jason,
This is the first time in 7 years that I have left a
comment. And this in itself is empowering to me. Thank
you for sharing your personal thoughts and feelings.
Especially the one about calling your parents more.
You will not know how really important and loving that
is until your child leaves home and creates a hole in your heart that nothing can fill.
May you stay on your path and continue to be blessed
and BE a blessing in 2008.

Funny I should happen to open your blog this morning. I try not to get distracted from my writing by opening emails other than those directly personal. However, here I am.
My business is all about holistic healing and energy work and spiritual evolution, miracles et al - but my beloved husband George died anyway last February. My most profound lessons were these:
1. Healing isn’t always about getting well. George walked me up to and through the door of my greatest fear - death. In return, I had the courage and grace to hold his hand and look into his eyes as he passed so that he would not be afraid. In the service of deepest transcendant love, was the sacrifice of that which we thought we could hold onto forever.
2. Death is not a mistake or a surprise. It is the script we have as humans. Every day I prepare for my own death by living fully. When I go I want to have sung all my songs and danced all my dances. Our physical body is our vehicle for this dance and we must care for, nourish, and revere it. Our ‘job’ as humans is to be all that we can be. Period.
3. Love is like water. We absolutely require it to flourish. When we surrender to love, love finds its own course through our lives without our conscious direction of it - even into the tiniest dark corners. It is the wellspring of courage, compassion, and joy. We can love - and let go. Love remains after all.
4. Happiness is a choice we make. It is love manifested. We are human - we can and will experience pain, suffering, and loss, but we can still choose moment by moment to be happy in the face of all this. A smile, a touch, a sunset, a kiss. Simple pleasures sustain us thorugh even the deepest grief. It takes practice and awareness to really grasp these moments before they slip by.
My New Year’s Resolution? Love like there is no tomorrow!
Blessings, Jason, for a most joyful and prosperous 2008!
Marilyn

To James,
I just thought that your page set-up
is really put together well. Did you have a copywriter for it??
I believe that we will have all that we focus our attention on. Which brings up the
point , “The Secret” movie I found very inspirational.
Check it out everyone. It is a old Law or Attraction at work

Hey Jason,
This is a really nice Blog. That lay out is
really cool. You got me wanting to see that
“PS:I Love You”. That is the powerful force
everywhere. I wrote an Article a few days ago
and created my first Squidoo Lens, should have
taken time to do that long time ago. But any
way the title of the Article that we used to
create the Lens was “Peers of Love…Win”.
Of course we entitled that Lens “Can We agree,
Peers 0f Love…Win? So You see I can just
imagine the impact of that movie You shared
“PS:I Love You”.
One last thought before we close this comment,
have You been able to watch the Video “No One”
by Alicia Keys?
Most are paying attention to the external but
the message is deeper than what on the surface.
Over 21 Million Views and climbing.
This song is good for world unity. Could it be
that the real core of the message is relationship
with the Word of God? God Bless Everyone…
everything is going to be all-right.
I’m praying for You.
Be Blessed always…Peace!

You are so right. Life is meant to be lived. Sometimes you can get all caught up with things in life but you must have your priorities to keep everything from getting away from you.

Hey Jason,
It is inspiration from movies, songs and other successful people that helped me in the early days of becoming a self-employed entrepreneur.
Success comes from positive feeling and a burning desire to make it.
If you are reading this and have any tiny bit of self-doubt. Fix those negative thoughts and fix them now!
All it takes to succeed is some inspiration, motivation and a “can do” attitude.
Never use phrases such as “if I make it”
Use phrases like “When I make it, I will…”
Those small differences in attitude translate directly to how fast you will succeed….
So with 2008 rolling upon us, get yourself a whoop butt can of positive energy and go rock the world…

Happy New Year Jason!
Just wanted to drop a note and let you know your new blog looks great. And yes, sometimes it’s good just to be ourselves and let people see that part too. In fact, that is my online New Year’s resolution. You’re off to a great start!

Hi Jason,
Wish you a happy 2008. Yes, each day is our birth and each sleep is our death. I am glad that you learned from the movie, what Eastern philosophy is all about. The problem is that we waste today trying to insure our tomorrows. I am glad that you will go ahead and keep the human values, respect for your parents, love for all beings.
Hope you achieve all that you desire.

Hi Jason,
I know the feeling. Just yesterday I watched the movie “Faith like Potatoes” and it had the exact same effect on me.
People say that new year’s resolution are a waste of time, because we never keep it. Well, I beg to differ. The key to life is to constantly try our best to improve - our life, our circumstances, our jobs, etc. Once we stop that process we are spiritually dead.
Yes, I also resolve to be a better person this 2008, and even more so in 2009. If I do not succeed this year, maybe next year, but I am going to continue trying en be richer and more fullfilled in life.
God bless and Happy New Year!

Hi,
I saw the movie a couple of days ago - and cried and cried.
And the movie was great (my husband couldn’t understand how I could sob all the way through and still love the movie!) - and the message in the movie was inspiring.
I tore myself away from my computer and spent yesterday with friends and my family - waterskiing, talking, enjoying one of our very hot summer days here in Outback Australia.
Today we are going yabbying (crayfishing??).
My children will hopefully look back on these summer breaks and reminise about the great times we had together.
P.S: I like the layout on your blog too!
