Trying New Things

Life is short, we all know that. but I think sometimes we get caught up in the day to day and we forget that and time just passes us by.

So I have a vow to myself to keep pushing myself outside my comfort zone. sometimes the fear of the unknown keeps us away from things that we might really enjoy.

Last year for me I tried snowboarding. I have been skiing since I was a kid and I thought it would be a piece of cake. boy oh boy was I wrong. My first day I spent literally 75% of the day on my behind.

I’ve since become a little better at snowboarding, and actually enjoy find it very fun. I am embracing the challenge of getting better.

This year I’m not sure what it will be that I’m going to try. I’m thinking maybe some international travel, a yoga class, church group, or maybe even white water rafting.

I think its really important to sometimes take a step back from your daily grind and analyze your life. For me it’s all been passing me by way too fast.

So from now on I’m going to try and enjoy every moment more and push myself to try new things while I’m still young. I urge you to do the same. Carpe diem! (Seize the day!)

    Jason,
You are SO right! Take it from a guy who turned 50 this year! ;-) I’ve always taken the time to push into new things…like getting my pilots license. BTW, did you ever get your ticket?

Hope all is well and rock on…

    Hey Lon,
Nice to hear from you… Actually never finished.. there were some crashes at the local airport (one fatal) and it scared me away from flying.

Maybe i’ll try it again someday… but I think I would only fly with one those ballistic recovery systems…. those single engine planes are not all that reliable sometimes.

Anyway, I hope all is well with you… Have a nice weekend.

    Jason
