Is Common Courtesy A Thing Of The Past?
By Jason in Pet Peeves | 0 comments
Everywhere I go these days it seems people can’t be bothered to offer up a hello, how are you, please, thank you, you’re welcome, etc.
I’m talking about everyone from the guy at the auto service department, the girl at the coffee shop, the cashier at the hardware store.
Maybe I’m old fashion, but I place a high value on common courtesy while it seems to others its trivial.
It’s a simple thing to do, but yet so few do it. Why? I really don’t know… but I try to always say thank you, ask how people are doing, tell people to have a nice day, etc. etc.
I found this great article right here with some great advice on how to be more courteous in every day life.
I especially like #14:
“Never underestimate the power of your small acts of kindness. They are the pebbles which form a solid foundation for our civilization. Without them, society will collapse.”
Let’s all do our part… and that includes you and me.
